Skroting. Members. Joined: 12/03/2008. Rocket surgeon. Posted January 28, 2009. I've had a couple of infinite loading screens myself. A restart of the game has always solved the problem. It has always been random, so I've never experienced a lock up twice at the same place.

When I log back on the game is still sitting there, apparntly running (it's just a black screen that I can't even open - but I can see it when right clicking on the icon in the task bar). So I decided to reinstall the whole thing, but guess what: It says I can't delete the game files because the game is still running and 'close the game down

Whenever I lauch the game it gets stuck on the first screen that pops up. If I alt+tab I can get the rockstar logos to appear, then it gets stuck again. If I alt+tab again, I can get to the main menu and start the game. Sometimes it crashes, but whenever I open the steam overlay in order to close the pop up in the lower right corner of the screen it freezes everytime.
